Welcome to Minot Toyota

Minot Toyota was founded in 1989 when the Rydell Group purchased Don Moe Dodge in Minot, ND. The Rydell Group purchases dealerships in order to provide an opportunity for a new individual to become the owner of the dealership, and to live in and be a part of the local community. This allowed Larry Durand to purchase the store in 1991. Larry quickly embraced the Rydell Brand Promises, one of the most important being “One Low Price, Plain and Simple, Always” — which is still in practice today. In 1996, Larry purchased the Toyota franchise, leading a team of sales and service experts up until his retirement in the Fall of 2023 when he sold the dealership back to the Rydell Company.

From the start, the Minot Toyota team has strived to make the dealership the best place to buy a new or pre-owned vehicle in NW North Dakota. The team has grown from 25 in 1989 to over 135 employees currently supporting Toyota.

Our Service Department and Express Lube provide automotive services for all makes and models of vehicles. We have a full detail center and retail parts department on site, as well as wholesale parts sales and delivery to all of western ND and neighboring states.

Minot Toyota has remained an industry leader for over 30 years, and we will strive to continually improve and grow in the future to meet the needs of our valued customers.

Minot Toyota’s Philosophy

The Minot Toyota philosophy is based on five areas that we believe are critical to business success. Those areas are:

1. Customer Enthusiasm

Completely satisfied customers who recommend us to family and friends.

2. Employee Satisfaction

We attract the best and they stay with us long term.

3. Financial Performance

We are profitable and use our capital wisely.

4. Market Penetration

We sell lots of everything.

5. Ongoing Improvement

Every day is a starting point from which we improve.

Our philosophy holds that each area is of equal importance and they are all inter-related. However, in any planning or decision-making process, customer enthusiasm will always carry the greatest weight.
